Mission Statement

"To give Summit High School seniors and children of Summit Police Officers, seeking to further their education and obtain a degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice, the opportunity to obtain financial assistance."
History
In 2001 Thomas I. Glasser, a Summit resident, came to Summit PBA Local #55 seeking to aid Summit Police officers and their families. Through strong consideration and planning, Tom became a founding member in the establishment of a scholarship fund and was a driving force in its creation. One week before the scholarship fund was to hold its first meeting, Tom was lost in the World Trade Center disaster on September 11th, 2001. Shortly after his death, the scholarship's President, Freddy Mondi, chose to name the fund in Tom's honor and memory.
Continuation
The scholarship funds are available due to the generosity of those that have continued to contribute to this wonderful cause year after year through donations and participation in our various fundraising events. The Board wishes to thank The Bouras Foundation and the Glasser Family Foundation for having been stalwarts by giving substantial annual donations. The Fund is entirely dependent upon the donations and support of individuals, families, and local businesses.

The Thomas I. Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and donations are 100% tax deductible.
